White House CIO leaves for private sector

Karen Britton, CIO of the Executive Office of the President, has stepped down from her position to join the private sector.

Ms. Britton has accepted the role of senior vice president and COO of e-Management, a Silver Spring, Md.-based provider of IT solutions.

In her new position, Ms. Britton will help lead the e-Management's expansion into the Department of Defense and other federal civilian and intelligence agencies. She will also be in charge of developing strategic commercial corporate relationships.

"This career transition is also exciting for me because forward thinking small businesses like e-Management are the laboratories for innovations that improve and enhance both commercial and government organizations," Ms. Britton said. "I am thrilled to be a part of such an amazing team of IT and cyber professionals."
