VigiLanz rolls out business intelligence, predictive analytics suite

VigiLanz, a digital healthcare intelligence firm based in Minneapolis, today introduced its new business intelligence and predictive analytics software-as-a-service suite.

VigiLanz' BI suite is designed to provide real-time predictive insights to reduce medical errors, lower patient readmission risk, identify hotspot disease trends and optimize clinical interventions. It is integrated with VigiLanz' real-time clinical intelligence and surveillance services that currently support nearly 350 hospitals in the U.S.

Orlando (Fla.) Health, a long-time VigiLanz clinical intelligence services client, will be the first health system to launch the company's new BI services.

VigiLanz has been supporting hundreds of leading healthcare systems with real-time information, surveillance and intelligence through the market's first real-time SaaS for more than 10 years. The VigiLanz Intelligence platform is capable of integrating and aggregating massive volumes of clients' primary data, which is uniquely processed across proprietary, crowd-sourced and evidence-based real-time smart-rules.

"The simple fact is, despite billions of dollars invested in enterprise healthcare software, today's EMR technology is not enough to deliver real-time patient-centric care," said David Goldsteen MD, VigiLanz chairman and CEO. "VigiLanz' BI and predictive analytics capability will, for the first time, enable clinicians and executives to develop models to assess and optimize the impact of response times on clinical outcomes — linking cause and effect to address risk areas such as readmissions, sepsis, hospital acquired infections and gaps in care, in addition to instilling improved care protocols directly into the clinical workflow. No EMR or any other single-point solution can offer this integrated capability like VigiLanz can today."

VigiLanz' BI suite of solutions will be integrated with the company's numerous clinical intelligence and EIR platform services that ingest and normalize disparate system data from a hospital EMR. This data is interfaced in real-time with highly-robust, exception-based, temporal rules, algorithms and events to deliver immediate clinical and business intelligence information and insights.
