TN's NorthCrest Medical Center First to Meet Medicaid Meaningful Use With Emergency Department Information System

NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tenn., is the first hospital in the country to qualify for Medicaid incentive payments by using an emergency department information system, according to a hospital news release.

Randy Davis, senior vice president and CIO of NorthCrest, said the hospital used the EDIS instead of its full inpatient electronic health record to achieve meaningful use to meet requirements quickly and with few changes to technology or processes, according to the release.
