Stamford Hospital in Connecticut Launches Remote Monitoring Program for Employees

Stamford (Conn.) Hospital has launched a blood pressure remote monitoring program to detect heart disease risk factors in its employees and their families, according to a news release.

The Abacus eBlood Pressure Program is designed to help reduce claims in one of the hospital's most expensive medical claims categories. Blood pressure readings will be collected and reviewed by a clinical team to make treatment decisions and support as needed. The hospital will encourage employees to participate in the program by offering feedback and cash incentives for self-monitoring of blood pressure.

The program was created in part with funding from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
