South Nassau Communities Hospital Selects Allscripts

South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside, N.Y., has selected Allscripts dbMotion and FollowMyHealth platforms to improve the hospital’s data analytics capabilities and to coordinate and improve patient care.

South Nassau will also become an Allscripts Reference Site, where Allscripts systems are used following established best practices to serve as a reference for other healthcare organizations.

“South Nassau Communities Hospital had committed to Allscripts in 2010 when it acquired its Sunrise Inpatient EMR Platform and has subsequently added the emergency department, ambulatory (Touchworks) and home care modules in the intervening three years along with the remote hosting services to run each of these products. We recently upgraded the Sunrise Inpatient/Emergency Room modules for compliance with meaningful use 2 and ICD-10 requirements,” said Mark Bogen, the hospital's senior vice president and CFO.   “We needed to have a patient portal as required by meaningful use stage 2 and felt that Follow My Health would be the best solution as it will create a singular portal encompassing the multiple Allscripts products. Additionally, South Nassau needed to find a solution to build a communication pipeline of clinical data between itself and its voluntary and employed community based medical staff. We believe that db Motion, acquired by Allscripts in 2013, which had a track record of connectivity to multiple physician-based office EMR’s, would provide the flexibility we needed as well as creating the population health management platform demanded by healthcare reform.”
