KLAS Study Shows Five Vendors Lead the HIE Market

A study by healthcare technology rating company KLAS found that out of 38 candidates, five HIE providers were considered in more than 10 percent of buying decisions, according to an Information Week report.

The report, "Health Information Exchanges: Perception in an Expanding Frontier," showed that Medicity was considered in 23 percent of HIE buying decisions, followed by Axolotl at 22 percent, RelayHealth at 15 percent, ICA at 11 percent and Epic at 11 percent.

The report showed the most frequently considered vendors were Axolotl, Cerner, dbMotion, Epic, GE, ICA, InterSystems, Medicity, Orion and RelayHealth. The KLAS report looked at HIE software purchases or planned purchases of 95 healthcare providers.
