Illinois Veterans Affairs Health System Reports Potential Data Breach of 518 Veterans

The Veterans Affairs Illiana Health Care System in Danville, Ill., notified patients of a potential data breach involving 518 veterans, according to a Commercial-News report.

An appointment book listing 518 veterans' last names and last four digits of their Social Security numbers went missing July 14 and has not been found. While there is no indication the personal information has been misused or stolen, the VA notified veterans as a precaution.
