Healtheway and the New York eHealth Collaborative are working to ready the health information exchange certification program that will be tested by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology, according to an EHR Intelligence report.
The certification will help ensure that providers are able to select products that will allow quick and easy access to the HIE of their choice.
Healtheway is the public-private partnership that operationally supports the eHealth Exchange, and NYeC is a partnership between healthcare leaders and the New York State Department of Health. Together, they formed the EHR/HIE Interoperability Workgroup. The workgroup is a consortium of states, electronic health record and HIE vendors whose aim is to further EHR adoption and HIE.
