Data collection company ERT to acquire PHT Corp.

Data collection company ERT announced its plans to acquire patient-driven mobile app company PHT Corp.

ERT, based in Philadelphia, provides data collection solutions for use in clinical drug development. ERT's purchase of Boston-based PHT will combine PHT's platform and customer service with ERT's clinical trial technology and service offerings, according to a news release.

PHT's platform, eCOA, is an electronic clinical outcome assessment software that collects and reports secure real-time patient data from mobile devices, according to the news release. ERT already implements a clinical outcome assessment software and will incorporate PHT's.

"We are thrilled to announce this strategic merger with PHT," said Jim Corrigan, president and CEO of ERT, in the news release. "This combination is about better serving our customers and delivering solutions to support the tremendous growth projected for the eCOA industry. By joining forces we are creating a truly innovative eCOA offering with global reach across therapeutic areas."
