The CAQH Committee on Operating Rules for Information Exchange was established in 2005 by both government and private sector healthcare organizations. Now, the organization has awarded more than 200 CORE Certifications.
Health plans, hospitals, health systems, clearninghouses and vendors are among the more than 200 recipients of the certification.
CORE Certification recognizes that an organization meets HIPAA-mandated standards and operating rules for electronic administrative data exchange.
"The momentum of CORE Certifications reflects the increased commitment and mounting success of a multitude of players in healthcare to effectively share electronic data in secure and meaningful ways," said Matthew Levesque, vice president of revenue cycle operations at athenahealth. "The work of CAQH CORE should be noted as a leading effort to bridge the gaps to information sharing."
