Starting Jan. 1, 2016, Harrisburg, Pa.-based Capital BlueCross will offer telehealth coverage to beneficiaries enrolled in most health plans.
The payer partnered with American Well to provide the telemedicine services through its Amwell platform.
"Consumers value convenience more than ever before, and healthcare is no exception," said Brooke Nordai, director of product innovation at Capital BlueCross. "Connecting our customers with doctor visits by video is one more way we are changing healthcare for the better."
