14 Boston hospitals launch web portal to connect with clinical researchers across the world

The Massachusetts Clinical Gateway, a new web portal that allows companies from around the world to connect and collaborate with the state's academic medical centers for clinical research and programs, went live Tuesday.

Representatives from the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center, the Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals and the Worcester, Mass.-based University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center made the announcement at the Biotechnology Industry Organization's annual convention.

Teaching hospitals participating in the initial launch of the portal include:

• Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Boston)
• Boston Children's Hospital
• Boston Medical Center
• Brigham and Women's Hospital (Boston)
• Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance
• Carney Hospital (Dorchester, Mass.)
• Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston)
• Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (Burlington, Mass.)
• Massachusetts Eye and Ear (Boston)
• Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston)
• St. Elizabeth's Medical Center (Brighton, Mass.)
• Tufts Medical Center (Boston)
• UMass Memorial Medical Center (Worcester)
• VA Boston Healthcare
