Moody's Investors Service has affirmed the "A3" rating assigned to Frederick, Maryland-based Calvert Health System's outstanding debt issued through the Maryland Health and Higher Educational Facilities Authority.
The rating affirmation was supported by a number of factors, including the system's ample balance sheet resources.
Calvert Health does face some challenges, which were considered for the rating affirmation, such as having an "accelerated capital spend which will either reduce cash or increase leverage and comprehensive liabilities which temper all measures of leverage," according to Moody's.
