Montana is poised to become the next state to expand Medicaid, according to KRTV.
The Montana Legislature has passed Senate Bill 405, which would expand Medicaid coverage to about 45,000 Montanans, according to the report. Under the legislation, enrollees will have to pay a portion of premiums and co-payments.
The bill was sponsored by Montana Sen. Ed Buttrey (R-GreatFalls). It now goes to Montana Gov. Steve Bullock (D), who has supported Medicaid expansion and is expected to sign the bill.
Montana would join 28 states and Washington, D.C. in expanding Medicaid.
