New York City-based companies MedPage Today, an accredited medical news service, and Clearhealthcosts.com, a journalism startup, have partnered to create a crowdsourced price database.
The database contains a number of prices already, but providers can still contribute their cash prices.
Clearhealthcosts.com has worked with public radio stations in the Philadelphia area, Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco on similar initiatives.
