President Donald Trump's administration said it will make ACA cost-sharing reduction payments — which help insurers selling plans on the exchanges to subsidize the cost of coverage for low-income Americans — in September, according to The Hill.
Insurers have remained uncertain about the long-term future of the CSRs, with some seeking significant premium increases and scaling back ACA marketplace participation for 2018.
The White House has made the payments so far in 2017, but on a monthly basis. As far as a final decision regarding future payments, a White House spokesperson told The Hill via email, "We are weighing our options and still evaluating the issues."
