For-profit hospital stock report: Week of March 23-27

Three of the five major for-profit hospital operators saw their stock prices fall last week.

Shares of Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals were down 2.53 percent last week, the most of any of the major for-profit hospital operators.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America and Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare saw their stock prices rise last week.

  • Community Health Systems (Franklin, Tenn.): $51.73 per share (down 2.51 percent)
  • Hospital Corporation of America (Nashville, Tenn.): $76.08 per share (up 0.04 percent)
  • LifePoint Hospitals (Brentwood, Tenn.): $73.70 per share (down 2.53 percent)
  • Tenet Healthcare Corp. (Dallas): $49.92 per share (up 0.58 percent)
  • Universal Health Services (King of Prussia, Pa.): $118.07 per share (down 1.24 percent)
