Survey Finds a Quarter of Healthcare Organizations Lost Executive Job Candidates in in the Past Year Due to Relocation Concerns

A recent survey of healthcare human resources executives revealed that healthcare organizations still face challenges in recruiting and relocating executives, according to an MSA Executive Search report.

Twenty-five percent of survey respondents said they have lost a vice president or C-suite candidate in the last 12 months due to relocation concerns. Twenty-six percent modified their relocation benefit plans to attract talent at the VP level or higher, a decrease from the 38 percent that did so in 2009. The percentage of participants who considered working with a relocation assistance company to relocate their executives decreased from 49 percent in 2009 to 17 percent this year.

The report concluded that organizations need to remain flexible and creative in recruiting top executive talent and recognize that their investment will pay off in financial and managerial success.
