CEO of Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Florida Earned $663k in First 4 Months

When Elaine Thompson, PhD, became CEO of Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Medical Center and its parent organization Lakeland Regional Health System in September, she earned $662,802 in total compensation for those first four months, according to a Ledger report.

That amount was broken down into three main parts: $169,355 in base salary, $125,000 in incentives and $368,447 in other compensation, which included relocation expenses, according to the report.

Lakeland Regional officials said Dr. Thompson's current full-year base salary is $699,608.

In September, Lakeland Regional's board of directors approved a measure that would make the hospital the first member of the University of South Florida Health System. Dr. Thompson will serve as the CEO of both Lakeland Regional and USF Health System.
