5 Medical Director Positions With the Highest Hourly Rate Change in 2011

The average median hourly rate for medical directors increased 3 percent to a total average of $146.19 per hour from 2010 to 2011, according to Integrated Healthcare Strategies' 2011 Medical Director Survey, but the position that witnessed the largest hourly rate percentage increase was the medical director of endocrinology at 17.4 percent.

Here are the five medical director positions that had the largest percent increases in hourly rates from 2010 to 2011:

2011 hourly rate:  $125.00
Percent change:  17.4 percent

Chief of Medical Staff
2010 hourly rate:  $125.00
2011 hourly rate:  $142.26
Percent change:  17.4 percent

Neurosurgery
2010 hourly rate:  $237.98
2011 hourly rate:  $277.78
Percent change:  16.5 percent

General Medicine
2010 hourly rate:  $125.00
2011 hourly rate:  $145.64
Percent change:  16.5 percent

Hyperbaric Medicine
2010 hourly rate:  $108.15
2011 hourly rate:  $125.00
Percent change:  15.6 percent
