Central Ohio plays home to several major hospitals and health systems, and each CEO of those organizations made more than $800,000 in total compensation last year, according to a Columbus Business First report.

Here are the four highest-paid hospital CEOs in the central Ohio region. Note: All figures are from 2011, and all hospitals/health systems are located in Columbus, Ohio.

Claus von Zychlin, Mount Carmel Health System
Base salary and bonus: $730,000
Deferred compensation: $104,000
Total compensation: $834,000

Steven Gabbe, MD, Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University
Base salary and bonus: $886,000
Deferred compensation: $100,000
Total compensation: $986,000

Steve Allen, MD, Nationwide Children's Hospital
Base salary and bonus: $1.01 million
Deferred compensation: $174,000
Total compensation: $1.18 million

Dave Blom, OhioHealth
Base salary and bonus: $1.67 million
Deferred compensation: $1.35 million
Total compensation: $3.02 million
