University of California, San Francisco Medical Center has launched its automated hospital pharmacy, which uses robotic technology to track medications and is believed to be the nation's most comprehensive, according to a UCSF news release.
The system was recently phased in and prepared 350,000 doses of medication without a single error. By preparing and tracking medications, the robotic pharmacy system is aligned with the hospital's goals to improve patient safety and free UCSF pharmacists and nurses to focus more on their expertise and direct patient care.
