Premera Blue Cross to outsource 40 jobs

Premera Blue Cross plans to outsource part of its call center to a healthcare firm in Virginia, according to The Seattle Times.

The Mountlake Terrace, Wash.-based health insurer said 40 positions will be affected in the change. Premera Blue Cross will outsource the jobs to Evolent Health to serve Premera members who purchase their coverage through the individual market.

The change, which will take effect in 2020, will not result in any layoffs, Premera said. The health insurer plans to offer similar positions within Premera to affected employees.
