Mississippi Affiliated Health Network, a 13-hospital physician-led network in Jackson, aligned with Hartford Conn.-based Aetna for an integrated care delivery model.
Under the agreement, Mississippi Affiliated Health Network providers will be reimbursed for meeting quality metrics like recommended cancer and diabetes screenings. Network providers' accountability for meeting specified quality metrics will increase as time passes.
Roughly 9,000 Aetna policyholders will be treated under the value-based delivery model. Fully-insured Aetna members in Mississippi who received care from a Mississippi Affiliated Health Network provider in the past 12 months became part of the model Jan. 1, 2017.
The Mississippi Affiliated Health Network aims to reduce healthcare costs and enhance community health in Mississippi, with onus placed on diabetes, obesity and heart disease.
