Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Wisconsin and Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care are partnering to co-own a new health insurance company.
Anthem and Aurora will each own 50 percent of the new organization, Wisconsin Collaborative Insurance Co., which will offer a commercial health insurance product called Well Priority.
Initial Well Priority sales will be focused on medium to large size employers, with most new group plans starting Jan. 1, 2017. Anthem and Aurora will share product details and plan options over the next few months.
The Well Priority network will include Aurora's physicians and 15 hospitals as well as hospitals and systems scattered across Wisconsin that are in Anthem's Blue Priority network. Other healthcare organizations that will be part of the network include: Wausau-based Aspirus; Green Bay-based Bellin Health; Milwaukee-based Children's Hospital of Wisconsin; La Crosse-based Gundersen Health System; Waukesha-based ProHealth Care; Appleton-based ThedaCare; Madison-based UW Health and UnityPoint Health - Meriter in Madison.

"Now, through Well Priority, we are working to further simplify healthcare so our members can focus on their health and live well."
