Karen Fordham, CEO of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based St. Joseph Hospital, resigned for a new job opportunity outside Indiana, according to a News-Sentinel report.

Ms. Fordham assumed the hospital CEO role Jan. 22. She previously served as president and CEO of Detroit Medical Center's Huron Valley Sinai Hospital in Commerce, Mich. She is equipped with more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience.

Ms. Fordham was expected to oversee several changes at St. Joseph Hospital following her appointment, including a potential relocation of hospital facilities. However, no plans have been announced as yet. Additionally, Fort Wayne-based Lutheran Health Network halted childbirth services at St. Joseph Hospital May 6.

Lisa Dolan, who has "worked closely with St. Joe physicians and leaders over the past several months," will step in as interim CEO, a Lutheran Health Network spokesperson told News-Sentinel via email.
