Washington State University Health Sciences Spokane announced on Oct. 1 three upcoming projects to expand its campus to accommodate growing innovation, research and collaboration efforts.
The first project is the construction of a Biomedical Health and Sciences building. The facility, which will comprise clinical simulation suites and research space, has already received $500,000 in support funding from the Washington state legislature. The project is expected to cost a total of $120 million, with groundbreaking scheduled for 2023.
WSU Health Sciences Spokane will also open the Spokane Health Education and Innovation Complex. It will house a virtual hospital and the campus' clinical research accelerator program.
The third project announced is a renovation of WSU's Jensen-Byrd warehouse. The redevelopment will result in extra space for offices and collaboration, as well as a portion of space reserved for leasing by philanthropic partners.
