Mercy Health seeks to fill more than 60 positions in Ohio community

Cincinnati-based Mercy Health is hiring in Urbana, Ohio, with open positions at Mercy Health Physicians, McAuley Senior Living locations and Urbana Hospital.

There are currently more than 60 available positions at these locations, including registered nurses, state trained nursing aids, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, respiratory therapists, and dietary and environmental services staff, according to Mercy Health.

To fill these jobs, the system said it will hold an open interview hiring event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 8 at Urbana Hospital.

The event will take place just weeks after Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours Health System revealed its intent to merge Mercy Health Feb. 21. The proposed merger would create an $8 billion system with 43 hospitals across seven states.

Mercy Health spokesperson Nanette Bentley told the Springfield News-Sun the proposed merger will not affect people who are hired.

"If anything, we believe this will create new development opportunities in the future," she told the publication.
