Healthcare sees 3.2% hiring drop in last year

Healthcare is among the U.S. industries that saw a hiring decrease from February 2018 through February 2019, at 3.2 percent, according to a study from the Reboot Digital Marketing agency.

To determine the industries with the most notable hiring decreases (and increases) during this period, researchers examined findings within the report titled “The Workforce Report March 2019” by LinkedIn.

The industries that saw hiring drops, based on the data:

1. Arts — 13.7 percent

2. Agriculture — 11.1 percent

3. Consumer goods — 8.4 percent

4. Retail — 8.1 percent

5. Hardware and networking — 7.7 percent

6. Entertainment — 7.3 percent

7. Construction — 6.6 percent

8. Manufacturing — 6.6 percent

9. Design — 6 percent

10. Real estate — 6 percent

11. Education — 5.9 percent

12. Media and communications — 5 percent

13. Legal — 4.9 percent

14. Nonprofit — 4.6 percent

15. Energy and mining — 3.8 percent

16. Finance — 3.3 percent

17. Healthcare — 3.2 percent

18. Recreation and travel — 0.9 percent

Here are industries that saw hiring increases:

1. Public safety — 6.4 percent

2. Software and IT services — 4.6 percent

3. Corporate services — 4 percent

4. Public administration — 2.1 percent

5. Wellness and fitness — 0.5 percent

6. Transportation and logistics — 0.5 percent
