Exeter (N.H.) Hospital received no violations from the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration after a mystery illness prompted a partial evacuation at the facility last year, according to a New Hampshire Union Leader report.
EH evacuated its inpatient operating room and emergency room Aug. 11 after staff members reported symptoms of dizziness and nausea. Twelve of the 19 staff members who became ill were taken to other healthcare facilities for treatment, according to the report.
Department of Labor spokesperson Ted Fitzgerald told the New Hampshire Union Leader an investigation by OSHA into the incident found no violations of workplace health or safety standards.
Despite an extensive investigation, fire officials and other agencies could not identify an exact cause around the time of the incident. A hospital spokesperson told the New Hampshire Union Leader EH also investigated and will likely release a statement later this month.
