Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare Begins Scheduled ‘Billing Clinics’ to Educate Patients on Financial Responsibilities

Wheaton has offered one-on-one counseling services before, but this is the first time the system has offered scheduled clinic services, according to the report.

Officials created the clinic system to address complaints from both patients and physicians frustrated with Wheaton’s handling of billing and compensation issues, according to the report. They hope the additional education will reduce hospitals’ bad debt in the future.
