Washington Hospital (Fremont, Calif.). Washington Hospital is one of the nation’s top 100 hospitals for joint replacement and orthopedic surgery, according to Healthgrades’ 2016 awards. The hospital offers numerous orthopedic and treatments and services, including care focused on elbow, hand and wrist, hip, knee, shoulder and spine. In addition to those services, Washington Hospital’s Institute for Joint Restoration and Research focuses on research and education. The hospital is home to some of the most experienced joint replacement surgeons in the Bay Area, Alexander Sah, MD, who has performed more than 200 partial knee replacement surgeries. U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital high performing in hip replacement and knee replacement. The hospital, a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, has received Magnet accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
