Virginia Health Agency Panel Recommends Denial of Two Hospitals for Prince William County

A hearing panel from the Health Systems Agency of Northern Virginia has recommended the denial of two proposals for new hospitals in Prince William County, Va., according to a report by the Washington Post.

Both Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare and Prince William Health System in Manassas, Va., have proposed new hospitals in the county.

Sentara proposed a 60-bed hospital, with 20 beds relocated from Sentara Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, Va., while Prince William proposed a 60-bed hospital, with 30 relocated from Prince William Hospital in Manassas.

The systems have until Monday to update their proposals to address questions raised by the panel, according to the report.
