The solicitation relates to a program called Interconnected Factors that Influence Health, Experiences and Needs, or “IF THEN.” Under the program, the vendor would support the VA in conducting a national survey of 10,000 high-risk veterans to capture “social, behavioral and health-related constructs unavailable in VA claims or EHR data,” according to the notice.
The VA will analyze the survey data to identify risk factors that predict hospital admission. The information might also prove useful for selecting patients for specialized care interventions. A form filed with the U.S. Office of Management and Budget noted the survey will ask about veterans’ attitudes toward life stressors, social support and sleep problems, among other factors, according to Nextgov.
The Federal Business Opportunities solicitation asked sources capable of administering the survey and related functions to submit a statement by Nov. 13.
