University of Connecticut Health Center Merger With Hartford Hospital Called Off

The University of Connecticut has dropped a plan to merge UConn Health Center with Hartford Hospital, deciding that the plan could does not have enough support from state lawmakers, according to a report by the Hartford Courant.

The proposed Hartford Hospital partnership, touted as the best solution for the health center’s future, called for erecting a new $475 million hospital using state funds, but that funding failed to win legislative backing this year.
