University Medical Center of Southern Nevada to Become Teaching Hospital

University Medical Center of Southern Nevada will affiliate with the Nevada School of Medicine to become a teaching hospital under a plan approved by Clark County (Nev.) Commissioners, according to KTNV TV.

Commissioners said the transition could take years and cost millions of dollars but it would attract more expertise to the county-run facility.

The county board also voted to resume the medical center’s partnership with the Nevada Cancer Institute.
