University Health Care to Break Ground on $30M Replacement Facility

Augusta, Ga.-based University Health Care System will soon begin construction of its $30 million hospital in Thomson, Ga., according to a report by The Augusta Chronicle.

The 68,000-square-foot facility replaces McDuffie Regional Medical Center in Thomson. It will feature 25 private inpatient rooms and will have the ability to expand to 100 beds. It will also include three operating rooms and an emergency department that includes trauma and cardiac rooms.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2014, according to the report.
