UC San Diego Medical Center. This 390-bed academic medical center is one of two main campuses for UC San Diego Health and the main clinical teaching hub for UC San Diego School of Medicine. The Hillcrest campus is home to a comprehensive stroke center, Level I trauma center, regional burn center, inpatient psychiatry unit and a clinic dedicated to HIV/AIDS treatment. The medical center boasts eight nationally ranked specialties and a top 10 ranking in California from U.S. News & World Report for 2016-17.
