Torrance Memorial Medical Center Receives $50M Gift

Torrance (Calif.) Memorial Medical Center has received a $50 million gift to help finish construction on its new patient tower, according to a Los Angeles Times report.

Donors Melanie and Richard Lundquist of Los Angeles are co-chairs of a capital campaign to raise money for the construction. Their gift is one of the top ten biggest philanthropic gifts to a U.S. healthcare institution this year, according to the report.

The new patient tower is scheduled to be completed in summer 2014.
