Sutter Health (Sacramento). A nonprofit health system, Sutter Health employs more than 53,000 people across northern California and its Sutter Medical Network boasts 5,500 physician members. Last year, Sutter Health made a $669 million community benefit investment that went toward healthcare programs and services, charity care and unreimbursed costs of providing care. In 2016 the health system included 24 hospitals and medical center campuses. Last year the health system supported 178,548 outpatient surgery center procedures at its 35 ASCs.
