HealthPocket, a website comparing and ranking health insurance plans, surveyed 1,225 U.S. adults on their monthly premium affordability for 2018.
This is the third consecutive year since 2015 that $100 or less was the most common answer, with more than half of people indicating that amount each year.
In HealthPocket’s 2017 survey, $100 or less was more than twice as popular as the answer of $200 a month, which 19 percent of respondents said is their price ceiling. In comparison, 11 percent of those surveyed said they could pay more than $500 a month in health insurance premiums.
