Summa Health Systems in Ohio Won’t Hire Any More Smokers

Six-hospital Summa Health Systems in Akron, Ohio, will no longer hire smokers or users of any tobacco products, according to a report by the Dayton Daily News.

Job applicants must agree to a urine test to confirm they are nicotine-free, but the policy doesn’t affect current employees.

Summa’s non-smoking policy joins those of the Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
