Study Finds Ohio Hospitals Cutting Staff, Postponing Construction

A new survey showed that hospitals across Ohio are cutting staff and postponing construction projects, according to a report in the Akron Beacon Journal.

The survey received responses from 110 of the 174 hospitals in the Ohio Hospital Association, according to the report.

Among the respondents, 35 percent said they planned to lay off additional workers in the next six months. Another 42 percent have enacted salary or hiring freezes, and 29 percent have cancelled or delayed construction projects or capital improvements, according to the report.

The report stated that individual hospital responses had not been released.
