Spectrum Health Medical Center-Butterworth Hospital (Grand Rapids, Mich.). Butterworth Hospital is the flagship hospital for the Spectrum Health Medical Center. It has served Grand Rapids since 1873, growing into a major tertiary and quaternary referral center, equipped with a certified primary stroke center, regional burn center and Level I trauma center. In 2016 the hospital was designated as a Spring Leapfrog Grade A Hospital and a Truven Health Analytics Top 100 Hospital. U.S. News & World Report ranked the hospital No. 4 in Michigan for 2016-17.
