Smoke Scare in UConn Health Center OR; No Injuries Reported

The University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington had an equipment malfunction that created smoke in the operating room, according to an NBC Connecticut report.

A compressor in a sub-basement created smoke in the operating room when physicians were performing a procedure. The medical team continued the procedure while firefighters investigated. Emergency workers ventilated the room before evacuation was necessary and no one was injured, according to the report.
