Norfolk, Va.-based Sentara Healthcare will partner with Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge, Va., the first hospital for the system to be located outside of the Hampton Roads area, according to a report in The Virginian-Pilot.
A letter of intent has been signed by both Sentara and Potomac, and both are working to complete the details of the merger and meet the requirements by the Federal Trade Commission and the Virginia attorney general, according to the report.
The merger will provide resources to Potomac while extending the reach of Sentara’s system.
