Scripps La Jolla (Calif.) Hospital. This Magnet-designated hospital was ranked the No. 23 hospital in the nation for adult orthopedics in U.S. News & World Report’s 2015-16 rankings. The publication also named Scripps La Jolla as high-performing in hip replacement and knee replacement in its common care ratings. Scripps Clinic physicians provide orthopedic care to the San Diego Padres Major League Baseball team, and the Scripps Health system boasts more than 135 board-certified orthopedic surgeons. Also located in La Jolla, The Shiley Center for Orthopedic Research and Education was there Scripps researchers pioneered a new joint replacement technology known as the electronic knee.
