Rideout Health evacuates select facilities in response to Oroville Dam flooding concerns

Yuba City, Calif.-based Rideout Health evacuated select facilities to protect patients from potential flooding if the nearby Oroville Dam malfunctions, according to KCRA News.

State officials ordered thousands to evacuate Sunday night after discovering the main reservoir behind Oroville Dam and the main spillway had reached capacity and its emergency spillway was severely damaged.

Health system officials evacuated patients from the following Rideout Health facilities:

  • Yuba City-based The Fountains Skilled Nursing
  • Yuba City-based The Courtyard Assisted Living
  • Yuba City-based The Gardens Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care
  • Maryville, Calif.-based Rideout Cancer Center
  • Yuba City-based Rideout Surgery Center
  • Yuba City-based Rideout clinics

The facilities will remain closed until state officials lift the evacuation orders, according to the article.

Officials said Yuba City-based Fremont Medical Center and Marysville-based Rideout Memorial Hospital will continue operations.
