Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago Plans Replacement Hospital

The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago has bought land near its downtown Chicago site to build a replacement hospital, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Institute executives said the organization has outgrown its existing 165-bed facility, on an 18,000-square-foot lot, and will have more room on the new 67,000 square-foot lot.

The institute still needs to hire an architect and has not disclosed financing plans, but the project would likely cost several hundred million dollars.
