Regulators to Spend 127M Paperwork Hours Annually on PPACA, GOP Says

Federal agencies are required to report the estimated paperwork burden caused by federal law. The health law report, which will be continuously updated, was authored by GOP members of the House Ways and Means, Education and the Workforce, and Energy and Commerce committees.

The largest estimated time-suckers stem from the IRS managing credits for small employer health insurance premiums (40.2 million hours annually), CMS monitoring new Medicaid eligibility criteria from the health law (21.3 million hours annually) and the FDA’s recordkeeping of restaurant menu labeling and reporting (14.1 million hours annually).
